New Horizons Computer Learning Centers Wins Red Hat Ready Partner of the Year Award – Earns Record Advancement

Austin, TX – September 27, 2019 - 5 Point Enterprises (5PE), the premier source for technology education services with 33 New Horizons Computer Learning Centers locations throughout the United States, has been awarded Red Hat Ready Partner of the Year based on their partner performance during the first half of Red Hat’s fiscal year 2019.

The Red Hat Partner of the Year awards, which have been presented since 2008, honor commercial and public sector partners for developing innovative solutions with Red Hat technologies to meet customer needs and business challenges. According to the Red Hat Partner Program guide, “The Ready Partner level enables you to grow your Red Hat enterprise open source practice while building Red Hat Datacenter Infrastructure, Middleware Solutions, and Cloud Infrastructure competencies.” 5PE/New Horizons became a Red Hat Ready Partner on February 5, 2018.

By July 2018, a brief five months later, they had already exceeded their goals and, in October 2018 were elevated to become a Red Hat Advanced Partner, providing ”an increasing set of benefits for building Red Hat business plans focusing on growing both renewals and identifying and closing new opportunities.”

No other Red Hat partner has achieved this elevation so rapidly. Typically, partners must submit and execute a 12-month business plan to advance.

Big Demand for Red Hat Open Source Software and Support Experts

“Red Hat Certification has become a must-have for many of our students,” explained New Horizon’s President Jamie Fiely.“ Especially now that Microsoft has fully embraced Open Source software as a full participant in the IT ecosystem, thousands of our students who already hold Microsoft certifications are adding Red Hat to their portfolio, too.” “There’s tremendous demand for certification on Red Hat’s most popular platforms, including OpenShift and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 8,” added Tiffany Wallace, Vice President of Marketing for New Horizons. “The majority of Fortune companies are incorporating these into their architecture, so our Red Hat students find opportunity quickly.” “Red Hat’s unique business model positions us primarily as an essential source of support services for Open Source systems,” explained Karl Reynolds, Senior Director, North America Training at Red Hat. “High-achieving partners like New Horizons enable us to scale by providing well-trained and prepared engineers certified to help fulfill our brand promise.”
